Assassin’s Creed is a fan favorite among gamers around the world. The series has evolved over the years, and one of the standout releases is Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection. Released in November 2016, The Ezio Collection is a compilation of three enhanced titles from the series, Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, all featuring the charismatic Italian assassin, Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

    The Game

The game’s story begins with Ezio as a young man, seeking revenge for his family’s murder. The plot thickens as Ezio uncovers a larger conspiracy involving the powerful Knights Templar and the ancient order of the Assassins. Throughout the series you’ll get to experience Ezio’s evolution as a character, from a hot-headed youth to the wise and seasoned leader.

One of the standout features of the game is the open-world gameplay. You’ll get to explore the cities of Italy during the Renaissance, including Florence, Venice, and Rome. The cities are beautiful, with a lot of attention to detail, making you feel as if you’ve stepped back in time. The game’s parkour mechanics also make traversing the cities a lot of fun as you can climb buildings, leap across rooftops, and even use ziplines to get around.

All I can say about the combat is…it’s awesome! Ezio is a skilled assassin, and you have access to a wide variety of weapons, including hidden blades, swords, and crossbows. The combat is fast-paced with a lot of different moves to master. One of my favorite things is going in using stealth to sneak up on enemies and performing some brutal assassinations.

It should also be pointed out that the soundtracks are pretty amazing. They perfectly capture the mood of time. The music is composed by Jesper Kyd, who has also worked on other games in the series.

A Few Personal Tips & Notes

There’s plenty of guides and videos out there to watch for pointers on any three of the games included in the compilation, but here’s some couple tips to get you going in the right direction.

In general to all three games, make sure you hit as many viewpoints as possible when you enter a new city. This will make life a lot easier. Also, pay attention to setting up Ezio’s armor the best you can when moving along the storyline. Going in with poor armor is just going to make things get ugly fast. And for Brotherhood and Revelations, you’ll want to recruit as many assassin’s as you can. Destroy as many Borgia towers and Templar dens as you can – quicker the better. This will bring more recruits, reduce enemy patrols a bit, and it’ll increase your bank vaults.

There’s a short 20 minute video included in this release called Assassin’s Creed: Embers. You’ll watch this after completing the three games. The short animated film serves as a conclusion to the story line. The film features Ezio much later in life as an old man…

    In Closing…

The Ezio Collection is a collection of remastered versions of the original games, with improved graphics and performance. The games look great on modern consoles, with better colors and improved textures. The game also includes all of the DLC for each title, adding even more content.

Overall, Assassin’s Creed the Ezio Collection is a must-play for fans of the series. The game’s story, immersive world, and fun gameplay make it game worthy of purchasing. So grab your hidden blades and get ready to take on the Templars in Renaissance Italy!
